If you’re planning to use WhatsApp Business, the first step will be to register your business. You can do it either through a mobile phone or a WhatsApp Business landline. If you plan to use your landline number for the registration, here’s how to do it.
But before that, let’s understand why WhatsApp Business needs registration. The platform, designed specifically for small businesses, lets customers interact directly with the business. For this to be effective, they should know that the business they’re engaging with is trustworthy. Registration gives that credibility to small and independent businesses.
A step-by-step guide to registering on WhatsApp Business using a landline
If you’re a small business, this is how you can register with a WhatsApp Business landline.
Step 1: Download the WhatsApp Business app (this is different from the regular WhatsApp app).
Step 2: Agree to the app’s terms and conditions.
Step 3: Submit your WhatsApp Business landline number with your country code. Omit the 0 in the code when you enter the number. Then, click on Next.
Step 4: Choose the Call me option since you can’t receive the text with the six-digit OTP (One-Time Password) for verification.
Step 5: You’ll get a call on your WhatsApp Business landline with the OTP. Enter that OTP to be verified.
Step 6: Now you can upload your profile picture, enter your business details, including, name, location etc. and set up your business profile.
There are primarily two things to remember if you use your landline to register your business on WhatsApp.
The landline number you use should be yours. You can’t use someone else’s landline.
You can’t use a landline number that has extensions. You should only use a number without any extensions for registration.
While you can use a landline to register your business, getting a second phone number through a second-line app has numerous advantages.
Dual usage: Use your second phone number to make and receive calls and texts and as your WhatsApp Business number.
A new number without a device: You get an additional number without having to buy a phone or SIM.
Auto-reply: Just like WhatsApp Business’s auto-reply feature, a second-line app will let you set an auto-reply to missed calls.
Added privacy: Since it’s a dedicated number for work, you can share your second number with your customers without worrying about losing your privacy.
WhatsApp Business is one of the most effective platforms for small businesses to acquire and retain customers. With a WhatsApp Business landline, business registration becomes easy and hassle-free for business owners.
While the regular WhatsApp Business app doesn’t let you use it with multiple users, there is a way around that
For local business owners, there are numerous advantages to using WhatsApp Business with a virtual phone number
