If you were assigned a number that you love from Chalkboard, but you’ve decided to stop using our app - you are able to take your Chalkboard number with you. You’ll just need to port your number away to a different carrier*. Here’s how it works.
We'll need to provide you with a PAC code. You'll need to submit this code to your new provider as soon as possible. As this PAC code will expire in 30 days, it's important that you submit the port request well before that date to avoid the possibility of it being rejected.
To start your port, please use this form.
You'll need to speak with the carrier to which you'd like to port the number. They will most likely give you an LOA (letter of authorization) that asks you for:
Your billing address
Name (or business name)
Phone number (your Chalkboard number)
If they do request a "billing document", we'll also provide that for you.
Please use the following service address for your number you are porting away (this is the phone number service we work with):
Twilio, Inc.
548 Market St #14510
San Francisco
California 94104.
Once you submit the LOA to them, your carrier will notify us of this request. Since we own the number as of now we'll need to verify the number port was legitimately authorised by you as there are cases in which people fraudulently port numbers away from carriers. Once that’s confirmed, your Chalkboard number will be released.
If for any reason your port-away request is rejected, please contact us at [email protected] and let us know what number(s) you are trying to port, and the specific reason provided to you by your new carrier for why the port was rejected.
To start (or authorise) your port away, please use this form.
*Numbers can't be ported away from Chalkboard whilst you're in your 7-day trial period or where an account has been banned due to breaching our Terms of Service.
